Aim of our CPR / BLS / AED training program
E&S Academy’s Heartsaver Basic Life Support (BLS) program aims at equipping individuals with first aid skills, enabling them to find employment in various settings like workplaces, schools, public spaces and hospitals etc as emergency workers. Our CPR/BLS/AED program is divided into three sections aimed at creating emergency medical professionals capable of working in varied settings.
- Basic First Aid – This class focuses on equipping non-medical, or lay rescuers with core skills like adult, child and infant rescuer CPR and choking that can be used in recreational, business, educational, casual and familial settings.
- Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support – This class is for medical or healthcare professionals like caregivers, physicians, paramedics, EMTs, and nurses. The program covers the basic first aid skills as well as 2 person CPR. Individuals taking this Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) class in NJ have to undergo written and practical tests before they are certified.
- Automated External Defibrillator, Basic Life Support – Along with the basic life support (BLS) procedures taught in the above two classes, use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is also taught in this program. More and more public spaces are being equipped with AEDs, which when combined with CPR can reduce the chances of a sudden cardiac arrest and improve the survival rate.
Role of CPR / BLS / AED professionals
Professionals trained in CPR/BLS/AED respond to emergency situations involving people with cardiac problems or breathing difficulties. The aim of our CPR/BLS/AED training program is to make sure that the individual responding to an emergency situation is capable of assessing the needs of the patients based on the situation and making quick decisions to provide care until an advanced medical professional can take over.
